Box Making 101

That's a Wrap!

One of the original items on my list of 50 Things was book making. I was unable to find a class on bookmaking but I did find one on box making and the instructor assured me it was the same technique. In this class, we first made a notepad with a sleeve and then we made a box. It involved a lot of wrapping, tucking, smoothing, and gluing.

Both of these projects were fairly difficult and it took 8 hours to make both.

Like many of the projects I try, I have a much greater appreciation for the work that goes into handmade books and boxes. When I pass by vendors selling items like these at craft shows, I will definitely appreciate them more.
